How do I select a Website Template?
|

Here are a few pointers on selecting a suitable template for your business.
|

Determine your target audience, company branding and image
|
|
|
|
|
If you are in the consulting business for eg, you’ll
want a clean, corporate looking site whereas a site selling’s
children’s toys should be animated, fun and vibrant.
Use the ‘Category’ and ‘Style’ options in the search facility to help
you shortlist templates.

|
|
|
|
|
|
Important: If
you cannot find a category that suits your business, simply choose a
layout and style you like and find suitable for your business and start
from there!

|
|
|
|

Think about what you want the site to do...
|
|
|
|
|
|
If you are an online store, you might want to
feature many promotions on your site, so look for a template that has
many “boxes” of information in its layout. If you are a services
business and just want to put up your company mission statement, then
select a template with a much simpler design upfront.
Selecting a template with the appropriate layout for your purposes will
save you effort and money in customization.

|

Ideally, you should select a site with images
provided that you find acceptable.

Copywriting - Developing your text to fit the
template format

Structure your copy to closely follow the number of
words and organization of the website template you have selected.
For eg, if the page has 3 sections, organize your copy into 3 sections.
Do not deviate too much from the layout or the design might start to
look unbalanced.
